Line-of-Duty Deaths: January Statistics
In January 2017, there were 15 officers killed in the line of duty in the United States. IACP President De Lucca makes a statement on the January 2017 fatalities.

IACP/Motorola Trooper of the Year Deadline Extended 
IACP has extended the deadline for the 2016 IACP/Motorola Trooper of the Year Award nominations until Friday, February 17, 2017. This is a program that recognizes some of the most courageous and dedicated officers in law enforcement. We encourage all S&P agencies to participate and to take this opportunity to recognize the outstanding achievements of a trooper in your agency.

40 Under 40: Nominations Due March 1
The nomination period for the 2017 IACP 40 Under 40 Award closes in two weeks on March 1, 2017. Don’t miss your chance to nominate an up-and-coming leader in your agency for recognition! Nominees should be under the age of 40, demonstrate commitment to law enforcement, and show a capacity for leadership. They can serve in any level of law enforcement, and individuals in sworn and non-sworn positions are all eligible.
