Strategic Plan
Strategic Plan in PDF
The IACP Strategic Plan is the document that guides policy and provides direction for the association. The Strategic Planning Committee, which is composed of members of the IACP Board of Officers, meets regularly to review the plan and reevaluate the goals and objectives in light of current and emerging issues in the law enforcement environment.
This year, the IACP leadership revised the strategic plan which places renewed emphasis on the following areas:
- Integrity and ethical behavior in professional policing
- Tolerance and appreciation for diversity within police agencies and with the public
- Partnerships and coalition building with the private sector and community groups
- Education about and acquisition of new technology
- Expanded research efforts, especially regarding youth and violent crime trends
- Community safety programs, especially traffic safety efforts
- Enhancement of IACP's international outreach
Jeanine Burchard was appointed Strategic Plan Administrator and is responsible for ensuring that the plan serves as a living document designed to guide the association in accomplishing its stated mission.
