Professional Standards Committee

This committee will be responsible for providing guidance to the association on all matters affecting professional standards for law enforcement to include assisting headquarters staff in serving as a clearinghouse on standards-related matters; developing white papers on law enforcement standards and practices; and working with staff as it prepares Project Response documents. The committee also shall work with the governing body to review and respond to proposed changes in standards, by-laws, and the process of accreditation maintained by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA); developments in the various states with their accreditation efforts; and shall assist the executive director interviewing candidates for appointment as CALEA commissioners. This committee shall be comprised of five (5) members.
