Committees, Divisions & Sections Committees Divisions Sections University/College Police SectionUniversity and College Police Section Scholarship Awarded 2002In April, the University & College Police Section of the IACP awarded Jason W. Mork of Iola, Wisconsin, the first section scholarship in the amount of $1000. Jason, who is currently a full-time student at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, will begin his sophomore year in the fall of 2002.The purpose of the University & College Police Section scholarship is to provide financial assistance to an outstanding student who is pursuing an undergraduate college degree related to any aspect of the criminal justice system. The scholarship award can be used to help defer the costs of tuition, books, fees, room and/or board. Jason was chosen as the first recipient of this annual scholarship program. He comes from a law enforcement family; his grandfather served as an officer with the Milwaukee Police Department and retired as Sheriff of Waupaca County. Jason’s father was a law enforcement officer who died in the line of duty when Jason was very young. Jason intends to make a career in law enforcement as well. Jason is an Eagle Scout and has been deputized by the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department. After his first semester in college, Jason was named to the Dean’s list with a 4.0 grade point average. Members of the University and College Police Section congratulate Jason Mork on the award and wish him continued success. |
